My brothers and sisters in christ, what does the word 'worship' means to you? Isn't in ironic how the term 'worship' can be used loosely in so many different contexts to mean so many different things just to satisfy our preconceived notion of what worship means? From pop music superstars to alluring actors or actresses, it is so easy to 'woship' all these icons of today. However, as christians we have been called together as a body of christ to worship the true and living God because it is in Psalms 150 that says "Let everything that breathes praise Yahweh". This worship that we experience as christians is more than just a great celebration, or a form of 'christian entertainment' that is done out of need but rather it is a language between men and our creator, God.
As we understand of God's role in reedeming humanity, worship becomes more than just songs of joy and happiness. It becomes a communication with God that trascends words and common language. Worship is the ultimate expression of our state of salvation. This expression of worship is not one that is verbal and passive but it is an expression that calls us to action by taking steps that draws us closer and closer to our real and living God. So, let us worship the true and almighty God which is Jesus with all our heart, mind, soul and body.
